A mother's love for her child is recognized as the first human connection that every individual understands and experiences from the moment of birth, a relationship that has existed since the dawn of humanity. However, the concepts related to motherhood and maternal identity are found much later in literature. This subject began to emerge in the 18th and 19th centuries and became more pronounced in the 20th century, with many authors narrating motherhood either directly or indirectly. Romain Gary's book "A Meeting at Dawn" is one of the most celebrated autobiographical works that portrays the love between a mother and her child; the mother is positioned as an object to be narrated by her child. In this study, the authors seek to analyze the writer's representation of motherhood through thematic analysis. This research moves beyond traditional ideas of the "good mother" and the "ideal mother" by defining and examining evidence related to the theme of motherhood, offering a profound and bold perspective on a mother's unconditional love and the projection of her long-held dreams for her child. It demonstrates how the narrative of motherhood presents an image of the "destructive mother" while simultaneously expressing love for her child, causing the child to feel an eternal debt to the mother.
